WHAT'S JOHN SHOUGH BEEN UP TO?

John helped complete production work on the acclaimed Guided By Voices album "Universal Truths And Cycles". This is the four zillionth project John has produced at Cro-Magnon Studios in Dayton with Bob Pollard and his merry band of collective rocksters known as GBV. Look for his past work with the GBV gang under both his name as well as his more reclusive moniker of "Johnny Strange".
John's been getting out of the basement and away from the studio a bit this spring, doing some welcomed outdoor exercising via landscaping work organic grooving with fellow bandmate Brett "Skywalker" Owsley.
John has recently completed production work at Cro-Magnon on new recordings by THE CITIZEN'S BAND who hail from Indiana. John's pretty into these guys and they are garnering the attention of more than a few folks as of late, which will surely increase once this hot new recording hits the streets, projected to be later this year.
John has been not only tearing it up in the studio as of late, but has been ripping it up at home as well; the carpet that is. The cat hair finally became just a little too much to bear.
While returning from an evening journey to a wooded cabin with friends in Degraff, Ohio, John was almost rammed and killed on a snowy, deserted road in the middle of the night. Not only was that a freak incident that at the very moment he hit an ice patch on a lonely country road the only car for miles happened to approach, but it was a huge white stretch limo? How ridiculous is that? Good thing we don't have to post the police pictures from the accident scene here.
Work has been proceeding along on a whole new collection of great tunes from John. He's been working on developing them with the band in the studio, squeezing in some production time in between his busy schedule at Cro-Mag, especially as of late with all the work with GBV.
Recordings were completed and mixed this fall of by Ohio Silver, Dayton's Ultrabilly supergroup, bringing you the twang of tomorrow...today! Ohio Silver is fronted by former Mulchman and Big Beefster Nick Kizirnis.
