It feels good to me that there’s a decent amount of vinyl recordings embedded in the It’s All Happening program (and actually much of the radio I’ve done over the years). It makes it feel more organic to me in regards to the creation process in the making of the show. The warmth of vinyl is like that of an audiophonic fireplace, as opposed to the fluorescence of digital. (And in some cases you can smell the cover. The Beatles' Rock 'n' Roll Music which I got back in the 8th grade, one of the first Beatles records I ever bought, still has the most distinctive of scents to its cover anywhere. The olfactory power of memory is pretty underrated.)
