At The World Premiere of Frontline’s “Haiti Deportation Crisis”

It was a fully packed house at the world premiere of the recently released Frontline documentary program on the “Haiti Deportation Crisis.”
Some timely stuff, diving into the ramifications of the cruel absurdity of the Trump/Vance/Miller regime’s deportation policies, particularly as they play out in regards to the large Haitian community living in Springfield, Ohio. You know, the ones Trump slandered with his claims that they’re “eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats”. They’re here in the U.S. under pretty well-deserved Temporary Protection Status, which Stephen Miller has effectively managed to have pulled out from under them.
The screening took place last Tuesday at the Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs, a film of which my friend Steve was extensively involved in the documentation. He’s here with partner and co-cinematographer Anna Lavatelli doing a live audience Q&A with the film’s co-director Sebastian Walker, hours before the documentary was broadcast to the rest of the world via PBS.
